BJC employees accept the MyPlate Fruits and Veggies Video Challenge!

ST. LOUIS • The USDA recently challenged Americans “to show how you’re adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet without straining your budget”. The USDA invited Americans to create short videos showing how they are adding fruits and vegetables to their diets without spending a lot of money. According to the challenge website, “The goal of the challenge is to encourage healthy eating habits and raise awareness around USDA’s MyPlate dietary guidelines, which includes making half your plate fruits and vegetables.”

Kristin Cunningham, Dietitian for BJC School Outreach and Youth Development, has accepted the challenge by developing a "Fruit Goo and Veggie Slime" video tip for kids. Beau Branwen, Bradley Eader, and Robert Church from BJC Center for Lifelong Learning provided technical assistance. The public can vote for their favorite video daily, through Dec. 12!  The winners will be announced Dec. 14! Please vote for our "Fruit Goo and Veggie Slime" video!
