Job Shadow Information
We are currently in the process of restructuring our job shadowing program and we are not conducting shadows at this time.
BJC School Outreach and Youth Development provides comprehensive job shadowing experiences for high school juniors and seniors, 17 and 18 years of age. Interested youth must complete the necessary BJC HealthCare required compliance protocols for the safety of the student, patients and entire health care community.
In order for a high school student to participate in the BJC School Outreach and Youth Development career exploration opportunity, school personnel will need to coordinate and request service on behalf of the student.
Required documents include, and are not limited to:
- Signed Parent/Legal Guardian Consent Form
- Current Immunization Record of participating youth
- Two-step Tuberculosis Test; completed within the past 12 months
- Letter of Recommendation from school district leader or liaison
Once the required documents have been approved, each student must complete a Mini-Orientation regarding HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and other health care compliance and competency checks.
Please contact us to set up a career exploration opportunity for your high school youth and to obtain the required forms listed above.
