Program Overview

Students today face many choices - especially those related to what they eat. Eating habits develop early in life and often extend into childhood. A registered dietitian from BJC School Outreach comes into your classroom and teaches the importance of healthy habits in "Fun"tastic Nutrition. Sessions include visual demonstrations and interactive games targeting nutrition and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Age appropriate learning materials are provided as well as pre- and post-testing for grades 1-12.

"Fun"tastic Nutrition grades 1-5
Six one-hour sessions address the importance of healthy eating, exercise, heart health, label reading, healthy snacks, digestive system, calcium and bone health.

BJC School Outreach programs are designed to meet Missouri Grade Level Expectations (GLE) and Illinois Learning Standards (ILS).
